The new Bridgepoint Health Centre at Gerrard and Broadview has won the Ontario Association of Architect’s (OAA) Design Excellence Award. Construction of the new building began in 2009 and was completed last year.
While it is great to see neighbourhood architecture recognized, it is hard not to lament the loss of old hospital building that it replaced. The semi-circular modern 1960s building was unique and a true Toronto landmark.
