Dundas and Carlaw has replaced Lolabar on the south-west corner of Dundas and Carlaw. This cafe/bar hybrid is a great place to start off your day with coffee and baked goods, or to end your night with beer, cocktails and charcuterie platters.
A drip coffee from the self-serve carafe will set you back $2, and the baked goods are all $2-$3 which makes for an affordable start to the day. Espresso drinks are also available.
The alcoholic drinks are a bit pricier, with draft beer for $7 a pint and a cocktail menu that ranges from $9 for an Amaretto Sour to $14.50 for something called “The Sleazer” which is described as a “Sleazee Caesar” that includes an impressive skewer with pickles and a pepperette style sausage.
The interior space is small and attractive, but the patio large and is definitely the star of the show. Enjoy it while the weather lasts!
