This will create more than a minor inconvenience getting into and out of our neighbourhood for the locals as it has suggested. I agree with the idea, but I moved here knowing the neighbourhood and have lived through the traffic. I do not see it as a big issue that requires all of these changes. Traffic on Gerrard is a larger issue and this will make that traffic much worse. Try putting in more speed bumps before inconveniencing everyone. – Langley Ave. resident

Comment on New Ping Pong Table at Withrow Park by riverdalerca /2014/new-ping-pong-at-withrow-park/#comment-29 Thu, 18 Dec 2014 20:34:00 +0000 /?p=1150#comment-29 According to the Globe and Mail, each table costs $5600 including installation. It would be great to see more of them in the neighbourhood, at Jimmie Simpson and Riverdale Park for example. Maybe contacting your city councillor is a good starting point to get more of these installed.

Comment on Ward 30 All Candidates Discussion by Entrepreurial One /2014/ward-30-all-candidates-discussion/#comment-27 Sun, 26 Oct 2014 02:55:00 +0000 /?p=1079#comment-27 Once again, Liz West showed at the debates that she has very little understanding of the issues, has not a lot to say about solving problems, except she is “open”, and most importantly to me, she has not done one single thing in her life to show true leadership, devotion to community, or passion. Not even a school council position, or a fundraiser. Really? Paula might have her flaws, but she is part of the reason we have such great neighbourhoods in Ward 30, and some of the easiest commutes. She has been involved in so many key discussions, from the Red Door Shelter to off-leash areas in our parks. I don’t need to align with her political orientation to appreciate what great work she has done. Jane, too, shows community involvement albeit not for our ward specifically. Anyone but West. Who also says she has no party affiliation, lol, while Arthur Potts does robocalls endorsing her, and her campaign is run by which Liberal? So if she can misrepresent there, putting herself forth as everymom, then how can we even trust her? Exactly. Paula Fletcher for Coucilllor, Cathy Dandy for school trustee (there’s a reason we have some of the best schools n the city).

Comment on Notes from Rogers TV Ward 30 Debate by Entrepreurial One /2014/notes-from-rogers-tv-ward-30-debate/#comment-26 Thu, 23 Oct 2014 03:15:00 +0000 /?p=1049#comment-26 Liz West does not have the experience, intelligence, or depth to represent us. It’s that simple. Even if you disagree with the political orientation of anyone else, Liz West is deceptive when saying she has no political alliance. Liberals everywhere in her campaign, including Arthur Potts auto-message today. Nothing wrong with Liberals….but lies are wrong. Liz West has done NOTHING in our ward of any merit. Not even a post on a Parent Council. Experience counts. Fluff and wanting to be in the eye of the camera is not a good reason to make Councillor. I will take Paula, flaws and all. After all, do we not have great neighbourhoods, huge property appreciation and great schools? We do. ‘Nough said.
